India has been led by many charismatic political leaders who have guided this country and its people, and today, they are an inspiration for all of us. We have been learning about these great personalities since our childhood but still, there are lots of pictures of our Indian Politicians that we have rarely seen.
So, in today’s article, I am going to show you some young or vintage photographs of our Indian Politicians and I am sure you would not believe your eyes as they have changed a lot over the course of the period.

Lal Krishna Advani
“The limits and boundaries (of the party) should not be crossed. However, the unrest within the party will not affect the development of the state”.
Lal Krishna Advani known as L. K. Advani is an Indian politician who served as the 7th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also served as Minister of Home Affairs in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004. He is one of the co-founders and senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2015 he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan as India’s second highest civilian honor.
L K Advani married Kamla Advani. He has a son, Jayant, and a daughter, Pratibha. Her daughter produces TV serial shows, and also supports her father in his political activities. His wife died on 6 April 2016 due to her old age.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee
“Daav par sab kuchh lagaa hai, ruk nahi sakate, Toot sakate hai magar, hum jhuk nahi sakate”
Atal Bihari Vajpayee is an Indian politician who was the 10th Prime Minister of India, first for 13 days in 1996 and then from 1998 to 2004. He is the first Prime Minister from outside the Indian National Congress party to serve a full five-year term and also a leader of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He has won many awards including Bharat ratan in 2015.
He is a bachelor and he adopted a girl and named her Namita and he always loved her like his real father. He is also a big-time lover of Indian music and dance.

Sonia Gandhi is an Italian-born Indian politician who has been the leader of the Indian National Congress party since 1998.She is the widow of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi who belonged to the Nehru–Gandhi family.
Sonia Gandhi was also listed as one of the fifty best dressed over the 50s by the Guardian in March 2013. She follows a style quote that “Simple is Stylish” and looks no further than Mother in law Indira Gandhi’s innate sense of fashion.
Smriti Zubin Irani
“Just like charity begins at home, we have to start making a change from our home and society. We need to work together to make this world a better place for women”.
An Indian politician, a former model, television actress, and producer, Smriti Irani is a Member of Parliament, being elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Gujarat. She is the current Information and Broadcasting and Textiles Minister in the Government of India.

Manmohan Singh is an Indian economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. The first Sikh in office, Singh was also the first prime minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term.

Narendra Damodardas Modi is an Indian politician who is the 14th and current Prime Minister of India, in office since May 2014. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the Member of Parliament for Varanasi. Modi, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is a Hindu nationalist and member of the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Sushma Swaraj, a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, is the second woman after Indira Gandhi to be the Minister of External Affairs of India. She has been elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. At the age of 25 in 1977, she became the youngest cabinet minister of the north Indian state of Haryana. She also served as 5th Chief Minister of Delhi for a brief term in 1998.
She is always ready to help her country’s people.In her words “Even if you stuck on the Mars, Indian Embassy there will help you” and this is the reason Swaraj was called India’s ‘best-loved politician’ by the US daily Wall Street Journal.

Arun Jaitley is the current Finance Minister and Minister of Corporate Affairs in the BJP Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ministry.
Jaitley previously held the cabinet portfolios of Commerce and Industry and Law and Justice in the Vajpayee government (1998–2004) and serving as the Minister of Defence in the Narendra Modi government as an additional charge. He is a Senior Advocate of the Delhi High Court.

Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was the first and, to date, the only female Prime Minister of India. Gandhi belonged to the Nehru–Gandhi family and was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Indian prime minister. She served as Prime Minister from January 1966 to March 1977 and again from January 1980 until her assassination in October 1984, making her the second longest-serving Indian prime minister after her father.
She was assassinated by Sikh nationalists in 1984, less than a month before her 67th birthday. The assassins, Beant Singh and Satwant Singh, both were shot by other security guards. Satwant Singh recovered from his injuries and was executed after being found guilty of murder.

Jayalalithaa was an Indian actor and politician who served six terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for over fourteen years between 1991 and 2016. From 1989 she was the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a Dravidian party whose cadre revered her as their Amma (mother).
Pranab Kumar Mukherjee
“No problems are ever resolved by violence. It only aggravates the pain and the hurt on every side”.
Pranab Kumar Mukherjee is an Indian politician who served as the 13th President of India from 2012 until 2017. In a political career spanning six decades, Mukherjee was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India. In 2017, Mukherjee decided not to run for re-election and to retire from politics after leaving the presidency due to “health complications relating to old age”. His term expired on 25 July 2017. He was succeeded as President by Ram Nath Kovind.

Shashi Tharoor is an Indian politician and a former diplomat who is currently serving as Member of Parliament, LokSabha from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala since 2009. He currently serves as Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs and All India Professionals Congress of the Indian National Congress.
Tharoor is also a writer, having authored 16 bestselling works of fiction and non-fiction since 1981, all of which are centered on India and its history, culture, film, politics, society, foreign policy, and more.
Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu Prasad Yadav is an Indian politician from the state of Bihar. He was the Chief Minister of Bihar from 1990 to 1997 and Minister of Railways from 2004 to 2009 with United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. He is the President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal political party.
He married Rabri Devi and has fathered nine children; two sons and seven daughters. I
Rahul Gandhi is an Indian politician and comes from Nehru Gandhi family is currently serving as Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. He also currently serves as Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs.
He serves as the Vice-President of the Indian National Congress party, the Chairperson of the Indian Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India. He is the second-highest-ranked member of the Congress Working Committee. He also serves as Trustee of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust.
Mamata Banerjee known as Didi is a poet, painter, and an Indian politician who has been the 8th Chief Minister of West Bengal since 2011. She founded the party All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC or TMC) in 1997 after separating from the Indian National Congress and became its chairperson
In 2012, Time magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and Bloomberg Markets magazine listed her among the 50 most influential people in the world of finance in September 2012.
Arvind Kejriwal (retired IRS), is an Indian politician who is the current and 7th Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. He previously served as Chief Minister from December 2013 to February 2014, stepping down after 49 days. He is the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party. His party won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a majority, obtaining 67 out of 70 assembly seats.
Mayawati Prabhu Das
Mayawati Prabhu Das is an Indian politician who spent four separate terms as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. She was Chief Minister briefly in 1995 and again in 1997, then from 2002 to 2003 and from 2007 to 2012. She is the national president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).Her party’s motive is to improve the lives of the weakest strata of Indian society i.e. the Bahujans or Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and religious minorities.
Maneka Sanjay Gandhi is a member of the Nehru-Gandhi Family. She gave up her modeling career and entered into politics. She is the Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development in the Government of PM Narendra Modi. She is also an animal rights activist, environmentalist, and widow of the Indian politician Sanjay Gandhi. She has been a minister in four governments and has authored a number of books in the areas of etymology, law and animal welfare.
Muthuvel Karunanidhi is the leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and 3rd Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time in 1969. On 13 May 2006, he became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the fifth time. He has also known for his writing works in the Tamil film industry.
Mulayam Singh Yadav
Mulayam Singh Yadav is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh who headed the Samajwadi Party. He served for three non-consecutive terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1989 to 1991, 1993 to 1995, and 2003 to 2007 respectively. He also served as the Minister of Defence of India from 1996 to 1998 in the United Front government. He currently serves in the Lok Sabha as the member for Azamgarh.
